Four people were cited and three vehicles were impounded after a multi-agency crackdown on a reckless driving sideshow in Lincoln on Saturday night, police announced Monday.

Lincoln police received reports of 40 to 50 vehicles gathering on Venture Drive, an industrial area in the city, Saturday night, according to a department social media post. Officers observed multiple vehicles and motorcycles “doing donuts and speed contests,” police said. Drone footage of the sideshow and officers’ response was posted to the department’s Facebook page.

Authorities used drones to monitor the gathering and identify participating vehicles. Officers from the Lincoln and Rocklin police departments, Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputies and California Highway Patrol officers assigned to the Auburn area participated in the enforcement operation, which shut down the sideshow.

Police issued four citations and impounded three vehicles, according to Lincoln officers.
