Four people were arrested and three others detained at Oracle Park in San Francisco after a verbal confrontation turned into a brawl between several fans just a few rows from the field as the Giants closed out a win Thursday night over the Colorado Rockies.

About 9:46 p.m., officers with the San Francisco Police Department responded to a report of a fight involving multiple individuals, a spokesperson for the department said in an email.

Videos posted to social media appeared to show two people at one point exchanging punches to the face in the seats just beyond the first base-side seats along the right field foul line. Multiple people then kicked and punched one person lying on the ground as a few attendees and ushers broke up the fight, the videos showed.

It is unclear what directly led to the incident, but police said it began as a verbal dispute.

Seven people were detained in connection with the incident, four of whom were arrested and booked into San Francisco County Jail later Thursday, police said.

According to police, the four arrested were a 29-year-old of Suisun City, 21-year-old of Fresno, 23-year-old of Selma and 26-year-old of Vallejo.

The 29-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault likely to produce great bodily injury, disturbing the peace and public intoxication, police said, while the other three faced charges of the latter two.

In addition, police said they cited a 26-year-old San Leandro resident for disturbing the peace and public intoxication, and a 25-year-old of Suisun City and 22-year-old of Fresno for disturbing the peace.

A Giants spokesperson told the San Francisco Chronicle that everyone involved in the brawl will be banned from Oracle Park, and confirmed that no team personnel or stadium workers were hurt in the incident.

Police said that the investigation remains active despite the arrests.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the San Francisco Police Department at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP441, beginning the message with SFPD.

The Giants defeated the Rockies, 8-2, with more than 32,000 fans reported in attendance Thursday night.
