Two people were taken to the hospital Friday evening after a fight in the Folsom Historic District.

The Folsom Police Department received several calls around 8:30 p.m. for a fight on Sutter Street, according to Sgt. John Triplett, which is the main corridor for the eastern suburb’s entertainment hub — home to stores, restaurants and bars.

One suspect, who was not identified by police, was arrested and booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of battery causing serious bodily harm, Triplett said.

Under California law, conviction on such a charge typically carries up to a year in county jail.
