A woman whose body was found in the backyard of a Natomas home last week has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Roseanne Brown, 66, of Sacramento.
Brown’s son, Scott Dallas Boyer, 41, was arraigned Tuesday on suspicion of his mother’s murder.
Sacramento police responded about 7:45 p.m. Aug. 13 to a report of a fight at the home Boyer and Brown shared in the 1300 block of Trail End Way. Boyer reportedly was in a fight with another family member. Officers separated the parties, and later discovered Brown’s body concealed under dirt and debris in the backyard of the residence. Boyer was arrested the following day.
A neighbor told The Sacramento Bee that disputes at the home were a common occurrence and that police often were called to restore calm. The neighbor called Boyer’s family members last week because he was worried that he had not seen Brown in days and her car sat gathering dust. The fight that drew police to the home last week occurred when family members confronted Boyer after they arrived to check on Brown.
