Sacramento police search for driver after Meadowview hit-and-run on Saturday

Sacramento police are searching for the driver of a vehicle they believe struck and seriously injured a pedestrian and left the victim in the road on Saturday in the Meadowview area.

The hit-and-run occurred at 10:36 p.m. Saturday in the eastbound lanes of Meadowview Road near Shining Star Drive, a Sacramento Police Department news release states.

Officers found a 36-year-old man lying in the road along the south side of Meadowview Road. The victim was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say they believe the vehicle is a Toyota, though the model is unknown.
