An alert Rocklin citizen is being credited with helping police arrest a man suspected of breaking into mailboxes.
The citizen called Rocklin police around 12:30 p.m. Saturday after seeing a man breaking into a commercial cluster mail box in the 4300 block of Anthony Court. The citizen kept an eye on the man until police arrived.
Officers quickly located the suspected mail thief, Melvin Gregory, 32, of Oroville, at the rear of a business. Gregory also matches the description of a suspect in two mail thefts in Roseville, police said.
In his vehicle, Rocklin officers found stolen mail, checks and credit cards.
