A driver died Tuesday when her car left the road in Nevada County and crashed into a pole, a garage and other vehicles.
She was identified by the Nevada County Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator as Amanda Taylor, 43, of Nevada City.
Taylor was driving westbound on Butterfly Drive in the Banner Mountain area about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday when her car left the roadway and struck a wooden power pole. After striking the pole, the car then hit a house garage and several parked cars in the driveway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

The damaged power lines started spot fires that had to be extinguished by California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection after Pacific Gas and Electric Co. personnel rendered the wires safe.
