Nevada County music instructor accused of distributing child porn

A Nevada County music teacher has been arrested on suspicion of distributing child pornography.

Ethan Lewis, 32, was booked into the Nevada County Jail on Wednesday after turning himself in, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department news release. He was released after posting $30,000 bond.

For the past several weeks, Lewis was the subject of an investigation by the Sacramento Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Investigators allege that Lewis had been distributing files of child pornography via the Internet. A search warrant was later served at his residence, which led to the criminal charges.

Because Lewis has been employed as a music teacher and has had regular interaction with minors, detectives are seeking information related to any unlawful conduct by Lewis, sheriff’s officials said. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the task force at (916) 874-3002.
