The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is publicizing an 18-year-old cold case in the hope of obtaining new information about the disappearance of Rancho Cordova resident Doris Inzunza.
Inzunza, 41, was reported missing on Aug. 26, 1997. Her family told sheriff’s deputies that they last saw her in the early morning hours at her Rancho Cordova home. When she failed to show up for work that day and did not return home that evening, her family notified the Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s officials said her disappearance was deemed suspicious and foul play appears to have been involved. They noted that Inzunza was a volunteer for Survivors of Stalking, an organizaton she co-founded.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (916) 874-5057. Those who want to remain anonymous can submit a tip via the Sheriff’s Department’s tip line, http://www.sacsheriff.com/Pages/Services/Tips.aspx.
