7 arrested after search of South Lake Tahoe home

Seven people were arrested on suspicion of narcotics-related offenses after law enforcement officers served a search warrant at a South Lake Tahoe residence.

Members of the South Lake El Dorado Narcotics Task Force served a the warrant about 3 p.m. Monday at a residence in the 800 block of Tallac Road in South Lake Tahoe. At the home, agents contacted 11 adults, seven of whom claimed to live there, according to an El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Service of the warrant was focused on an investigation alleging sales and use of narcotics, sheriff’s officials said. They reported that suspected methamphetamine and heroin were located in the residence. Agents also located items consistent with the sales of illegal narcotics, including packaging and scales. Spoons commonly used to reduce heroin to liquid form by heating, small cotton pieces commonly used to filter drugs before injection, and hypodermic needles and syringes were found. Glass pipes typically used to smoke methamphetamine also were recovered, sheriff’s officials said.

Those arrested and their alleged offenses are:

  • Richard Martin, maintaining residence for sale of narcotics and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
  • Joshua Martin, possession of a controlled substances, maintaining residence for sale of narcotics, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and violation of probation.
  • Marty Beaman, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of heroin with intent to sell, maintaining residence for sale of narcotics and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
  • Shawn McGrath, maintaining residence for sale of narcotics, possession of false compartment to conceal narcotics, possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
  • Gabrielle Cooley, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, maintaining residence for sale of narcotics and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
  • Rachel Neill, maintaining residence for sale of narcotics, possession of false compartment to conceal narcotics, possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.
  • Angela Zimmerman, loitering for the purpose of narcotics activity.

All were booked into El Dorado County Jail.
