A collision involving several motorcycles Saturday afternoon on southbound Interstate 5 south of Hood Franklin Rd sent at least one rider to the hospital with serious injuries, law enforcement officials said.
The incident shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday involved a “large contingent of a motorcycle club,” said Deputy Chief Michael McLaughlin of the Cosumnes Community Services District Fire Department.
As many as six motorcycles went down. Injuries to three of the riders warranted ground transportation to a local hospital. One rider suffered serious injuries, McLaughlin said.
The roadway was cleared at around 3 p.m.
