Brothers arrested after Citrus Heights bank robbery

Two Rancho Cordova brothers are is custody Saturday after they allegedly robbed a bank within the Sunrise Mall complex in Citrus Heights earlier in the day, police officials said.

Witnesses say a man brandished a gun and demanded money about 12:30 p.m. from a bank in the 6000 block of Sunrise Boulevard, said Lt. Jason Russo of the Citrus Heights Police Department.

The man then fled the bank and, with another man, drove south in a dark vehicle. The stolen vehicle was quickly found unoccupied, Russo said.

Witnesses helped connect brothers Adam Ruben Silva, 30, and Eriberto Silva, 31, to the stolen vehicle. “With a little bit of luck,” Russo said, both men were found nearby and taken into custody by 2 p.m.

It’s not immediately known what role each brother reportedly played in the bank robbery, he said.
