Police hope video will help solve June homicide case

Sacramento police homicide detectives have released surveillance video in an attempt to identify a vehicle and people suspected of involvement in a June homicide.

Anthony Barajas, 20, was fatally shot at 11:21 a.m. June 28 as he was driving his truck in the 1400 block of Meadowview Road.

Police said the surveillance video from a gas station in the area was taken just before the shooting. One or more perpetrators were traveling in what appears to be a 1997 to 2005 Buick Century four-door sedan, police said.

Homicide detectives are still investigating the case and received the security footage capturing a glimpse of the two vehicles.

Police said the victim’s truck can be seen in the No. 2 lane of westbound Meadowview Road. The other vehicle is visible in the No. 1 lane, a car length behind the victim’s truck.
