A 19-year-old man has been convicted of raping an unconscious 16-year-old girl at a house party in Galt.
A jury on Friday found Enrique Calles guilty of rape of an intoxicated person, rape of an unconscious person and annoying or molesting a child, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office news release.
On May 4, the 16-year-old victim attended a house party in Galt, and as the night went on, she became increasingly intoxicated, authorities said. Calles helped her to an upstairs bedroom to sleep for the night. He soon returned to the room and had sex with the girl while she was unconscious.
Friends found the girl a short time later and described her as appearing to be dead, or near death, and barely breathing.

The victim remembered Calles’ voice and the words he used, and his DNA was left on her neck during the sexual assault, authorities said.
Calles is to be sentenced Oct. 19 by Sacramento Superior Court Judge Christopher Krueger.
