The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in identifying people responsible for recent vandalism of churches in the North Lake Tahoe area.
Multiple churches were vandalized sometime Sunday or Monday, including one in Kings Beach and one in Tahoe City. Offensive statements were spray-painted on a religious statue and exterior walls, according to a sheriff’s news release.
Placer County detectives are working with Nevada’s Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating several cases of church vandalism in its jurisdiction.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Detective John Riella at 530-581-6325. People wishing to remain anonymous and to be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 should call Placer County Crime Stoppers at 800-923-8191, or submit a tip via the Crime Stoppers website, www.placercrimestoppers.com.
