A driver has pleaded no contest to charges in connection with a fatal South Lake Tahoe crash that took place in November.
Olga Nayeli Pena-Arce, 21, entered the no-contest plea on Monday in El Dorado Superior Court to gross vehicular manslaughter while drunk and driving under the influence causing injury, according South Lake Tahoe police. She is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 13.
Pena-Arce was arrested in early April after a four-month investigation by South Lake Tahoe police.
Police said that at 4:30 a.m. Nov. 24 Pena-Arce was driving on Pioneer Trail near Edna Street when her car went out of control, hitting signs and a wood retaining wall. A passenger, Aimee Campos, died from injuries suffered in the crash.

Another passenger, Wayne Walker, was ejected from the vehicle but survived his injuries. Pena-Arce also suffered significant injuries.
