Coroner identifies woman killed in south Sacramento collision
A woman who died Monday afternoon when the motorized scooter she was riding was struck by a tractor-trailer rig has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office as Eleanor T. Gonzalez, 68, of Sacramento.
Sacramento police say the collision occurred shortly after 4 p.m. at Franklin Boulevard and Mack Road in south Sacramento. Police spokesman Officer Justin Brown said Gonzalez was westbound on the scooter in a crosswalk when the driver of the westbound truck turned northbound onto Franklin, striking the scooter.
Gonzalez died at the scene.
Brown said the truck driver, a man in his 20s, stopped and cooperated with investigators. He was not injured.
