West Sacramento police investigate homicide at motel
A body was found outside a West Sacramento motel Sunday morning, and authorities say the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
West Sacramento police first received reports of an unconscious male about 8:45 a.m. Sunday at the Stardust motel at 1451 West Capitol Avenue. Police spokesman Sgt. Roger Kinney said the man was found on the sidewalk. Emergency responders pronounced the 25-year-old man dead at the scene.
Kinney said he suffered a gunshot wound.
“We don’t know what he was doing there,” Kinney said, noting that the victim was not a tenant or guest at the motel.
The victim, whose name was not released, lived in West Sacramento, police said.
