Truck driver airlifted to Roseville after water shifts, tipping trailer

Sacramento

A heavy load of water shifting on a turn was just enough to tip over a tank trailer Wednesday night in Yuba County, leading to major injury to the driver.

The driver, Kevin Louis Adams, 55, of Reno, had to be taken by air ambulance to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.

Adams was traveling north on Feather River Boulevard south of Algodon Road outside of Plumas Lake at about 7 p.m. Wednesday with a tank full of non-potable water on a trailer when he made a sharp turn. The load in the tank shifted, causing the truck to tip over onto its left side, blocking to roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The road was closed for three hours to get Adams out of the overturned truck, investigate the scene and clean up.
