Two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of 45-year-old Byron Darbonne during a 2014 home invasion robbery in south Sacramento County.
Sacramento County sheriff’s homicide detectives arrested Anthony Wayne Jacob, 51, in Southern California, and Antjuan Sydnor, 45, was arrested in Philadelphia on a murder warrant. Both were returned to Sacramento and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of murder and robbery, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. They are being held without bail.
Sheriff’s deputies responded about 5:45 p.m. Sept. 23, 2014, to the 8200 block of Auberry Drive, near Highway 99 and Calvine Road, regarding a report of a home invasion robbery that had just occurred. The female caller reported that two armed men entered the home and shot Darbonne. The woman was able to escape out the back door of the residence.
Deputies found Darbonne dead from a single gunshot wound.

Sheriff’s officials said detectives believe Darbonne and one of the suspects were casual acquaintances and that robbery was the motive for the shooting.
