Sacramento police arrest suspect in recent restaurant robberies

Sacramento police announced the arrest of a 20-year-old man in connection with several restaurant robberies reported during September and October.

Lonnie Stark, 20, was arrested Thursday and booked at Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of robbery.

The robberies were reported at four businesses from Sept. 9 through Oct. 3. In each instance, a man entered the business, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money from the register, according to a Police Department news release.

The robberies occurred:

▪  Sept. 9 at Bimbo Discount Bakery in the 1200 block of El Camino Avenue.

▪  Sept. 24 at Carl’s Jr. in the 800 block of El Camino Avenue.

▪  Sept. 28 at Long John Silver’s in the 3200 block of Northgate Boulevard.

▪  Oct. 3 at Carl’s Jr. in the 3700 block of Northgate Boulevard.

Police said an officer assigned to the department’s crime suppression unit developed a lead in the case that resulted in the possible identity of a suspect and quickly led to Stark’s arrest.
