Police: Teen dead of apparent shooting at North Highlands apartment

A teenager was shot to death at a North Highlands apartment complex Saturday night, police said.

The deceased young man was declared dead at the scene after investigators responded late Saturday to calls reporting a shooting at the apartment complex in the 4300 block of Galbrath Drive, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department. His exact age was not given, though the sheriff’s department describes the victim as being in his “late teens.”

Homicide detectives believed the shooting happened inside the apartment complex, according to the sheriff’s department, but no apparent motive or suspect were immediately identified.

The victim’s identity was being withheld until officials could notify his family.
