Police say man thought holed up in Sacramento home was not there
Police efforts to contact a man thought to be holed up in a home in southeastern Sacramento ended about 5 p.m. after it was determined no one was inside the residence.
The man sought was involved in a suspected domestic violence incident.
Police said they were called about 10:40 a.m. to the home in the 5300 block of Alcott Drive near Fruitridge Road and the 65th Street Expressway, where they believe the man assaulted a woman. The woman was safe and out of the house, a Sacramento Police Department spokesman said.
Police thought the man, who was possibly armed, might have remained inside the house, and SWAT officers and a hostage negotiation team were called in to try get him to surrender. After searching the residence with a robot, police concluded no one was inside.
