Man booked for allegedly causing fire on American River Parkway

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing a brush fire along the lower portion of the American River Parkway.

Sacramento Fire Department fire investigators, working with Sacramento County Park rangers, on Tuesday arrested George Pulis, 65, on suspicion of arson.

Investigators said that Pulis is suspected of causing a one-acre fire on Sept. 26 at about 9:45 p.m. The fire was sparked along a dirt trail near mile-marker 3 in an area with several homeless encampments, according to the fire department.

Pulis was also booked into jail on warrants for homeless camping.
