Burned body found in Auburn-area park identified as Lincoln man

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday identified the man whose burned body was found Tuesday in an Auburn-area regional park as Jeremy Hecht, 22, of Lincoln.

An employee at Hidden Falls Regional Park arrived to unlock a gate at a parking lot about 6 a.m. Tuesday and noticed the body. The employee saw the man had burned to death, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The body was found near a well-used trail head.

A medical examination of Hecht concluded there is no foul play related to his death, which has been labeled non-criminal, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
