A Sacramento County Superior Court jury convicted Taejuan Jackson on Wednesday of first degree murder in the killing of another man outside a Florin Road gas station.
The jury found that Jackson, 20, shot and killed Juwan Howard on Dec. 21, 2013 at the Fast Trip gas station in the 8000 block of Florin Road. Howard, 19, and Jackson had prior encounters, according to a press release from the Sacramento County District Attorney.
At the time of the shooting, deputies said that Jackson approached shot Howard through a car window as Howard sat in the vehicle. Friends inside the vehicle then summoned help.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. in Department 26.
