A Davis junior high school teacher suspected of sexual battery was arrested late Friday in Concord, Davis police said Saturday.
John O’Brien, 40, who teaches at Harper Junior High, was taken into custody and released on a notice to appear in Yolo Superior Court, according to Davis police. He was charged with a misdemeanor count of sexual battery, police said.
According to The Davis Enterprise, O’Brien was suspected of inappropriately touching a 16-year-old boy at the boy’s Davis home on Sept. 14. The Enterprise reported O’Brien was suspected of touching the boy over his clothing and that the incident was reported to police the following day.
