Shootings injure two in Sacramento

Two people were shot Saturday in separate north and south area incidents, according to the Sacramento police crime log.

Officers made an arrest the same day in the shooting reported at 3:41 p.m. in the 500 block of Santiago Avenue in North Sacramento in which the victim “sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive,” according to the log.

No name was available of the suspect who was taken into custody on a traffic stop.

At 11:45 p.m., a male victim was shot while walking with a second person in the 6600 block of Wyndham Drive, near the Kaiser South hospital. The shooting to his lower body was not life-threatening, police said. Officers turned the case over to gang detectives.
