Six people were stabbed at a quinceañera party in the Yolo County town of Madison on Saturday night, law officials said.

An 18-year-old suspect, who apparently crashed the party, was arrested nearby just after the incident, Sgt. Don Harmon of the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident occurred about 10:30 p.m. in the Madison Town Hall. All of the victims were adults, Harmon said. The stab wounds ranged from minor to serious. All were treated at a nearby hospital. One victim underwent surgery.

Harmon said the motive for the attack is under investigation.
