Crab feed to benefit Sacramento DART diver efforts

A fundraising crab feed to benefit the efforts of the Drowning Accident Rescue Team is scheduled for January.

The divers of the DART team enter the often murky and swirling waters in and around Sacramento County to save swimmers or recover bodies of the drowned. They are also instrumental in pulling vehicles from rivers, sloughs and lakes.

The all-volunteer force depends on donations, grants and fundraising events such as the crab feed planned for Jan. 31 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Citrus Heights Community Center, 6300 Fountain Square Drive.

The festivities include all the crab you can eat, salad, bread, no-host bar and dancing.

Cost for the crab feed is $45 if tickets are purchased before Dec. 1. Tickets are $50 after Dec. 1.

Tickets are available on the organization’s website at www.dartsac.com or by calling (916) 425-5498.

Call The Bee’s Bill Lindelof, (916) 321-1079.
