Two robbery victims wrested a gun away from a would-be robber Wednesday night in Land Park, Sacramento police said Thursday.
At about 7:45 p.m., police say, two males in their late teens were in Land Park near the Doc Oliver baseball field at 11th Avenue and 13th Street when a man walked up and robbed them of their belongings at gunpoint.
The teens pleaded with the man to leave their identification and bus passes so they could get home, according to a police activity report. The robber agreed, but as he was returning the items to them, they rushed him.
In a struggle over the robber’s gun, the weapon fired into the ground. The teens gained possession of the gun from the robber and he fled.
