Attackers sought in sexual assault of UC Davis student at park

Davis police are seeking three men who sexually assaulted a female UC Davis student at a park last week.

The unidentified victim, in her early 20s, met three men at the Bistro 33 restaurant in downtown Davis on Thursday night. After the encounter, police say she was taken to Davis Community Park, where the men sexually assaulted her. The park is about 10 blocks north of the downtown bistro on F Street.

The assault comes as the city takes a closer look at downtown nightlife after the fatal stabbing of a man outside a Davis nightclub in September.

In Thursday’s sexual assault, Davis police say they are looking for a white man in his late 20s with a larger build, shaggy or uncut brown or red hair, freckles on his face and possibly wearing a red shirt and dark baseball hat; a mixed-race man in his late 20s to early 30s with a muscular build, possibly taller than 6 feet 1 inch, with short dark hair and trimmed beard; and a white man in his late 20s.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Davis Police Department at 530-747-5400.
