One man was shot, another pistol-whipped and several cars crashed when a bonfire gathering in the early morning hours disintegrated into chaos near Sloughhouse.
Deputies had to sort out the shooting and multiple traffic crashes near Meiss and Dillard roads Wednesday morning after 10 to 20 people, 17 to 24 years old, scattered in a hurry at the sound of at least one gunshot.
Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies said one man was shot in the arm during an argument at the bonfire. The suspected shooter, Julian Ikaika Sebalabarraza, 21, of Sacramento, was later arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and an having an outstanding felony warrant.
Vehicles crashed on narrow, country roads near Sloughhouse around 3 a.m. as young people erratically drove away from the gathering. The bonfire was held on private property without permission of the landowner.

At least eight people required medical attention, including the assault and shooting victims. None of the injuries was considered life-threatening.
