Sacramento residents identified in Hwy. 99 crash

Two Sacramento residents have been identified as the victims in a fatal automobile crash Friday on southbound Highway 99, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office said.

Tevis Haggard, 67, and Rosemary Haggard, 61, were killed when their sport-utility vehicle crashed around 10:20 a.m. into the center divider north of 47th Avenue, officials said.

Witnesses told California Highway Patrol officers that the SUV was speeding, and officers said the driver may have suffered a medical emergency.

Tevis Haggard was driving the Nissan Pathfinder when it clipped a Toyota Camry and crashed into the median, the CHP said. Rosemary Haggard was ejected from the SUV and died at the scene. Tevis Haggard was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

The driver of the Camry sustained minor injuries.
