A Sacramento County jury in November convicted Taejuan Jackson of first-degree murder in the Dec. 21, 2013, shooting death of 19-year-old Juwan Howard.
Jackson, 20, is to be sentenced Dec. 12 in Sacramento Superior Court.

According to stories in The Sacramento Bee, the shooting occurred outside the Fast Trip convenience store in the 8000 block of Florin Road.
Howard and Jackson had had prior encounters, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.
Howard was sitting in a vehicle at the convenience store when Jackson reportedly approached and shot him through a car window. Friends in the vehicle summoned help, but Howard died of his injuries.
