The FBI’s Sacramento field office is asking the public’s help in finding a man wanted on a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in a child molestation case.

Otis Lee Cooper, 57, formerly of Sacramento, also has ties to Michigan and Mississippi, according to an FBI news release.

Authorities said an arrest warrant for Cooper was issued Sept. 20, 2011, by the Sacramento Superior Court after he was charged with 10 counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child younger than 14. A federal arrest warrant for Cooper was issued on Aug. 28 of this year by the U.S. District Court in Sacramento, charging Cooper with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Cooper is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 240 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and tattoos on his right hand and right forearm. The tattoo on his right forearm is the word “Libra” in script style.

Anyone with information regarding Cooper or the case is asked to call (916) 481-9110, or (800) 885-5984.
