Wilton woman killed in head-on collision during storm

A Wilton woman died Monday evening in a head-on collision during a severe rainstorm.

Andrea L. Rodriguez, 47, was southbound on Wilton Road, north of Green Road, around 5 p.m. Monday. A pickup driven in the opposite direction by William Kirkland, 19, of Wilton crossed into Rodriguez’s lane and the two vehicles crashed, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both vehicles were traveling below the speed limit, the CHP reported.

Rodriguez died at a hospital. A 13-year-old in her car escaped injury.

Kirkland suffered minor injuries. A 19-year-old passenger in his truck was unhurt.
