Santa Rosa man booked for alleged Placerville sex assault

Placerville police have arrested a Santa Rosa man on suspicion of sexually assaulting an unconscious person.

James E. Parker, 67, of was arrested in Santa Rosa on Tuesday.

Placerville police began an investigation Thanksgiving Day after Parker allegedly sodomized a person who had fallen asleep. Police declined to say whether the alleged victim was male or female.

Parker arrived unannounced at the alleged victim’s home in Placerville the week before Thanksgiving and was allowed to stay the week. The alleged attack occurred the evening of Nov. 27.

Police said Parker and the 62-year-old person he is said to have attacked have “had a relationship” since March.
