Three people stabbed at Elk Grove apartment complex

Three people trying to stop drivers from speeding in the parking lot of an Elk Grove apartment complex were stabbed Friday night, police said.

The stabbing victims were brought to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, said Detective Josh Magdaleno of the Elk Grove Police Department.

Residents of the Crossing at Elk Grove on Elk Grove-Florin Road confronted drivers in separate cars about speeding in the parking lot, he said. One of the drivers, who lived at the complex, went into his apartment, got a knife and stabbed some of the residents.

At least two of the residents were stabbed multiple times, he said.

One of the suspects showed up the hospital with stab wounds and was arrested, Magdaleno said. His name was not released pending his release from the hospital.
