Body pulled from water at William Pond Recreation Area

Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies and county parks officials are investigating the death of a person pulled from the water Tuesday afternoon at William Pond Recreation Area.

Capt. Michelle Eidam, spokeswoman for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, said the department responded about 3 p.m. to a report of a person in the water at the park on the north side of the American River. She said bystanders had pulled the person to the shore and administered CPR until paramedics arrived, but the person died there.
