The man pulled from the waters of the American River on Tuesday has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
Jonathan Albanese, 32, of Carmichael was pronounced dead at 3:31 p.m. Tuesday, according to the coroner’s website. Cause of his death is listed as undetermined.
Sacramento County sheriff's deputies and county parks officials are investigating the death of Albanese whose body was taken to shore Tuesday afternoon by bystanders at William Pond Recreation Area near Arden Way and McClaren Drive.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District personnel responded about 3 p.m. to a report of a person in the water at the park on the north side of the American River. Bystanders administered CPR until paramedics arrived.
