Rocklin man arrested after allegedly driving with trailer of pot
Shasta County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Rocklin resident and a man from the Bay area on drug charges Wednesday morning for allegedly possessing a trailer containing marijuana.
At about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday deputies pulled over a Jeep Wrangler pulling a U-Haul trailer on Eureka Way at California Street in Redding for a vehicle code violation. A police dog smelled drugs in the trailer, which was searched by deputies.
Inside, deputies said, they found about 260 pounds of marijuana in plastic bags and some “bulk” cash.
The Wrangler driver, Tyson Scharf, 27, of Rocklin and his passenger, David Mireles, 31, of San Francisco, were arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale and transportation of marijuana.
