UPDATE: Police report missing Elk Grove boy found safe

An 8-year-old boy who was reported missing in Elk Grove has been found safe.

Elk Grove police said the boy, whose first name is Torin, was found on a KinderCare bus.

Elk Grove Unified School District police initiated the search for the boy who had last been seen about 2:30 p.m. at Arlene Hein Elementary School.

Elk Grove police joined in the search, and a school district spokeswoman said automated phone calls were made to alert residents in the area of the school, which is on Bellaterra Drive.
