A woman who witnesses said had brandished a knife and a whip was taken into custody by Fairfield police.
Breanna Palaganas, 23, of Fairfield, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats, brandishing a weapon and resisting arrest.
Calls reporting that a woman was brandishing a knife and a whip toward residents in the 2400 block of Peach Tree Drive were received about 7 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived, officers were told that the woman had assaulted apartment complex residents.
Officers also learned the woman had mental health issues.

Palaganas was found on the second-level porch of an apartment. She eventually threw household objects at officers before climbing into the attic crawl space.
Officers were able to take her into custody without injuring her, police said. Apartment complex residents and officers were also uninjured.
