The bodies of two infants or fetuses have been found in a Placer County storage unit.
A woman called Placer County Sheriff’s deputies on Nov. 25 to report an odor coming from an abandoned storage locker in the 100 block of Sherwood Court in Colfax. She had just purchased the contents of the storage unit at auction.
Deputies responded and, during the investigation of a container in the unit, found the decomposing remains of a fetus or infant. A deputy coroner confirmed the remains were human.
The container was taken to the Placer County morgue for “processing” and autopsy, according to a sheriff’s news release. Later, a second fetus or infant was found in the container.
