A Sacramento Superior Court jury today convicted Marcaill Wormley of first-degree murder in last Dec. 23’s shooting death of Branden Anderson outside a north area triplex on Beaumont Street.
Wormley, 32, also was convicted of trying to dissuade a witness to the killing of the 22-year-old Anderson.
Judge Sharon A. Lueras scheduled Wormley’s sentencing for Jan. 30.
According to evidence at trial, Wormley and Anderson fought earlier on the day of the shooting at the Beaumont Street residence following an argument concerning a woman. Anderson left after the fight, but returned to collect some of his belongings when a witness said Wormley pulled out a gun and shot him.
