Sheriff’s deputies investigate Orangevale shooting

Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies were investigating a Wednesday morning shooting at an Orangevale apartment complex.

Sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Tony Turnbull said the 9:15 a.m. call initially came in as a home-invasion robbery in the 9100 block of Madison Avenue, but when deputies arrived, they were unable to locate any victims or weapons.

Shortly after, a 19-year-old man showed up at a hospital with gunshot wounds that investigators believe are connected to the apartment shooting, Turnbull said. The man was expected to survive.

Turnbull said it was unclear whether the man was a victim or a potential suspect.

“We are investigating the facts surrounding the shooting. At this point, we can’t confirm it’s a home invasion yet,” Turnbull said.
