Fly-fishing equipment stolen from private club in Placer County
Placer County sheriff’s deputies are asking the public’s help in identifying the thief or thieves who allegedly stole more than $25,000 worth of fly-fishing equipment from a private fishing club near Foresthill.
It is unknown when the burglary occurred, but the incident was discovered Saturday when a maintenance worker for the Horseshoe Bar Preserve found the storage container at the Mosquito Ridge Road facility pried open, according to a sheriff’s office news release. Reported stolen were pairs of waders and boots, fishing rods, T-shirts and chest packs, officials said.
The equipment was marked with the letters “HBP,” which stands for Horseshoe Bar Preserve. A pontoon boat was also stolen, but later found near the preserve.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact the Placer County Sheriff's Office at 530-889-7800.
