Sacramento sheriff’s detectives searched the home of a convicted sex offender Tuesday and said they found images of children in various states of undress and evidence that the man had been videotaping victims in secret.
Lionel Phillip Jacques, 60, of Sacramento, was convicted of oral copulation with a minor younger than14 by using force or fear, according to the state’s Megan’s Law registry of sex offenders. It did not give the date of his conviction.
He is required to register as sex offender for life, the sheriff’s department said in a news release.
Detectives were investigating a case against him when they served a search warrant at his residence and discovered the photographs and videos, the news release said. They arrested Jacques, who was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of possessing obscene matter depicting children younger than 14 years and photographing or videotaping undressed persons in a private room or place, it said.

Authorities are still trying to determine the identity of the victims and where the crimes occurred. The Megan’s Law registry shows Jacques’ most recent address as the 7000 block of Suncountry Lane, near Stockton Boulevard and Elsie Avenue in south Sacramento.
Detectives with the sheriff’s Hi-Tech Crimes, Internet Crimes Against Children unit ask that anyone with information about Jacques call them at 916-874-3002.
Jacques is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court on Monday.
