Man sought man in Raley’s parking lot robbery

A woman was injured after a man stole packages from her car outside a Freeport Boulevard supermarket, then knocked her down as she tried to retrieve her property, authorities say.

Sacramento police say they are seeking assistance in identifying a vehicle involved in the Friday robbery in the parking lot of the Raley’s store at 4850 Freeport Blvd.

Authorities say the victim was standing at the trunk of her vehicle at 5:27 p.m. when a man approached her and removed several packages from the car. The thief fled in a vehicle. The victim sustained minor injuries from falling while unsuccessfully trying to recover the packages.

Police say the man who took the packages was driving a green Honda Element. He was described as light-skinned Latino male in his 20s who was wearing a dark, peacoat-style jacket, dark sweatshirt and dark pants. A female in her early 20s was seated in the front passenger seat of the fleeing vehicle, police said.

Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
